Can't Wait.

You'll be seeing some changes around these parts very soon. We're in the process of bringing you are full site... which means our online shop will be up as well, WOOHOO!!!

In the mean time you can watch these ATLiens who share the same sentiments as you, only they can't wait for the ladies. Our shirts may get the ladies to wait on you though!

Another online shop will be up soon as well, but more on than later...

Word To McFly.

XXX For Kids.

Though hilarious and creative (!!!), I still wouldn't watch this at work.  Unless you work at a daycare... for porn stars' children.

Milwaukee Magic.

Back in October of 2007 is the first time I contacted Scout of DesignScout to discuss helping me bring this clothing brand idea to life. Scout gave us Jeremy as our designer (J. Peezy, what up!?). Since then I have referred to the DesignScout collective as our design team.

This past April the W!ld Leek team took a trip to Milwaukee to meet the design team in person for the first time. We've been making magic ever since!

It appears Matt likes taking shoe shots. Check his old school Pumps.
...Nana's limited Court Forces. I don't really check for Court Forces, don't really like the construction, but these are an exception. The purple/pink colors pop, and parts of the shoe are denim. I'm hating a tad bit.
Early renditions of our character(s), "The Pointz". You'll be seeing more of those guys later.
After meeting, working, and eating, Scout and Jeremy took us over to Moda 3, a boutique in Milwaukee's historic third ward.
I think we may have all left with a purchase.

Nana bought a box of the Jason Markk shoe cleaner. I need some of that.

I'll take more pix next time we visit the design team. I know, I know, I gotta get my picture taking game up. Take it easy on me, I'm learning as we go - sheesh!

Character!

This is not even that entertaining, but its funny because its Diddy!  And I thought he deaded the "Puffy" moniker.  Still funny nonetheless.  He could work on his autotunes voice a bit though. Kanye caught on fairly quickly (Can't get enough that joint by the way)!

This is even worst than the first.  Not even half as entertaining... almost.  Where the heck are the doors on those jeeps!?!?! And put your seat belts on!

This is what happens when you're not sure what to really blog about - you post videos.  Its so easy!  Not to worry though there will be more on the W!ld Leek brand as we grow.  In the mean time email us (click on The Pointz at the top of the page), and let me know what you might want me to blog about... cartoons, movies, Chicago, streetwear, or ?uestions on W!ld Leek.

Fiberglass Feelings

I've been meaning to get over to rotofugi, a designer toy store here in Chicago, for the longest. It took a post on Hypebeast to get my legs to moving.  So I finally checked out the store as well as the Noop Show by Coarsetoys creator Mark Landwehr being held in rotofugi's gallery... The craftsmanship alone is impressive.  All the figures were either sad, angry, dead, or hurt in some fashion.

I went on a rather chill day, so Whitney, one of the owners, was able to show me around a bit and filled me in on some key things:
1. This is Mark's first U.S. show.
2. This is rotofugi's biggest exhibit to date.
3. Contrary to popular belief, most of the figures are not vinyl.  They're fiberglass.
4. They ain't cheap!

Mark Landwehr hard at work.  Looks like he checks for one of my favorite brands.
This guy, though my favorite from the show, immediately reminded me of the Donnie Darko bunny.  This little guy retails for about $4,800 - and he's not even the most expensive.
Paw! will be released soon
The show will continue through October 5th.  Next time I'll take some shots of the actual rotofugi store space.  Equally impressive!

Delayed.

So, what's the hold up?  Why aren't there any shirts available to buy? What the heck was the launch party for?  Why do you have a website with no online shop, and you're a clothing line!?!?!?! What the heck type of operation are those clowns running over there!?!

Valid ?uestions merit valid answers. One word. Tags.  The 20 word answer is: We're waiting for the tags to be sewn into all the shirts before we start releasing them to the public (you can stop counting the words now - and i counted the contraction as one word, nitpickers).

These will be the sleeve tags on the next season.  Couldn't do them for the first season, it would have taken even longer than its taking now.
When?  2 weeks - tops...

...Larceny???

... soooooooo, we were in Vegas this past August for the MAGIC show.  On the second day of the show Asher Roth & Mos Def performed.

As Mos was coming off the stage and walking over to one of the booths, the W!ld Leek team and I got to have a convo with Pretty Flaco himself!  I was a little preoccupied looking at the other booths, but of what I heard of the convo it went something like this:

Mos: ...yeah, yeah. That's dope. [looking at Matt's "Suspect" tee] Oh, is that Kevin Spacey?
Matt: Nah, that's actually the dude that played Kobyashi.
Mos: Oooooooh! Okay, okay... yeah, that's tight! That's tight!

...Then some corny, old dude with an accent tries to take a picture of Mos, and he's not having it.  Mos doesn't do pictures - better ask somebody!  He was telling folks all day to take it easy with picture taking.  Then this lame dude decides to just interrupt our convo and snaps a shot of Mos.

...So Mos takes the guy's camera.
Did you peep Dame (W!ld Leek) in the first 3 seconds of this video wearing the brown "Unity" joint?  Whoever filmed this almost hit Dame in the face!

Dude shouldn't have took the picture when Mos and the people around him asked him not to.  Simple as that. Dude was wrong.  Now Mos is being brought up on larceny charges.  Darn those paparazzi!

No Flashing Lights

I know I'm more or less late on posting this, 'cause I'm sure you've heard or read about it by now. They didn't have to break the cameras, but paparazzi can be mad intrusive! I gotta ride with Chicago!

Let me tell you what happened at MAGIC similar to this incident...

Garcon Means Boy.

Okay, so I've been ?uestioned to no end by my friends, family, and even the rest of the W!ld Leek team about girl shirts. "What?!?! No girl shirts!?! I gotta get a man's medium??" That's one remedy... or you can patiently wait for the female line.

The plan from the beginning was to get the men's program off the ground, and a year after launching the men's program, we would launch the women's line. It'll be under a different name, but will still stay true to the Essence of W!ld Leek - a sister brand, simply.

I've already chosen a name for the female program, which is a direct reference from Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction. Can you guess the name? One more hint: it's a direct reference from this opening scene.

Gear Box

Okay, okay! I promise not to just upload random videos all the time, but this made me chuckle a tad.

Zoo Race

This is supposed to be a bible based game, but its just waaaaaay to bugged out to be taken seriously. Download it if you dare, and let me know what you think!

Kinda reminds me of that crazy Xavier: Renegade Angel show on Adult Swim from the look as well as the crazy plot!

Kicks & Chicks

The W!ld Leek team was in Las Vegas doing some brand awareness during the MAGIC Convention 2008 this past August.  We got a loooooooot of info, learned a lot, made some good contacts.

www.kicksandchicks.com stopped us for an interview, I don't know if they ever posted the video... i only found this picture:

Sooooooo, if you happen to see the video around let the KiD know so i can post that joint!

There are actually a lot more shots of us at MAGIC, but my clown self forgot my camera back in Chicago.  So I gotta wait for the rest of the team to send me those shots... more on the way!

The Launch

First of all... Welcome to the World of W!ld Leek! I'll be doing my best to keep the blog updated daily. Web logging is new for the KiD, so bare with me while I get the hang of this thing. I call the blog "Leeky P!pes" because its the pipeline of information on everything concerning the brand... if you were curious. You can expect the usual: updates on all things W!ld Leek, pics of friends and family, random rantings, etc. The full site is coming in the following weeks to come, as well as the online shop. I'll keep you posted!

In the mean time, you can check out our linesheet (check the sidebar to the right), and decide what you want before the shop is up!

?uestions, concerns, and general inquiries? Click on the Pointz (They're saying "Email Us!") above!

And now...

This Saturday. Come out and celebrate the official launching of the brand with the W!ld Leek family!
