Maestro Knows Ibn.
Filmmaker Levi Maestro travels around downtown Chicago with Chicago's own Ibn Jasper.
Mr. Maestro has always been an inspiration for me as far as filmmaking is concerned. He has a camera and just simply shoots his famous friends. I don't normally post Maestro Knows episodes, but I found this one particularly inspirational because Ibn is from Chicago and I felt he had some pretty interesting things to say in the vein of "getting out your dreams", word to Kanye.

Lessons Learned.
By Matt & Kim. Directed by Taylor Cohen and Otto Arsenault (FVMMO Films).
Can't get enough of the one shot, one take film style. Basic concept and well executed. The end disturbed me though. What a crazy turn this has taken, but I guess that's the lesson learned.

I Throw Ya Ball On The Roof.
Though this clip is probably on every other blog on the internet, along with the prior string of Kobe and LeBron MVPuppets clips, I just thought is was hilarious. Plus Lupe kills it as Blitzen. Nike got me this time: I'm intrigued to see how this pans out. Peep Blitzen's chin hair.

Luv Deluxe
By Cinnamon Chasers. Directed by Saman Keshavarz. I believe this was entirely shot on Canon 5D Mark II. Looks great. Groovy tune.
Clear story and great execution. I come from the school of filmmaking that you should be able to tell a story with no words, so I have a special place in my heart for films that can do just that. I've watched this 3 times before posting and was thouroughly entertained, catching something different each time. Not sure if there's supposed to be a moral of any type, but its definitely a fun ride. Two things I found interesting: the guy whose point of view it is, his bank card doesn't seem to work in any scenario, and this girl turns out to be bad news even when he makes all the right decisions. Perhaps the moral is don't pick up attractive girls at gas stations.
Where did that gun come from anyway? Aren't they in his car? Probably one of the best videos I've seen all year for the simple fact it kept me engaged and had me coming back.

Vincent (1982).
Written and directed by Tim Burton. Narrated by Vincent Price... and what great narration it is.
Well written story as well. I think I'll always be a Tim Burton fan. Beetlejuice was one of my favorite movies as a shorty believe it or not (ask my parents!). And I wish I could hire Vincent Price to narrate a day in my life.
