Giving Thanks.

Happy (belated) Thanksgiving, family! On behalf of the W!LD LEEK family I want would just like to say thank you to all our supporters... Thank You. As we continue to grow I never want to forget how we got to where we are, which is basically off of your support. First things first...

W!LD LEEK is a project I started with the hopes of building a community of people who share similar yet diverse interests. One central interest of mine is the love of films, and more specifically the art of filmmaking. When I post music videos, or short films its because I actually like the clip, I can appreciate the time and effort that went into the final product. I don't post things because it's "cool". Though other blogs may have the same videos I post (heck, I get the clips from other blogs to begin with!), I only post the ones I actually have an opinion on. With that said, I'm going to start sharing some of my own original film works. The first being a video that I directed this past August. Harold Green's "Mad Drivin'":

Not only did I direct this piece, I also produced the beat for this joint. Once again, thank you for the support, and let me know what you think of this clip, as well as the forthcoming clips. Enjoy!

Love!

2 Fingers For Fenger.

By Harold Green. A dedication piece in the wake of the death of Chicago's Fenger High School student Derrion Albert.

I haven't watched the footage of the beating. I can't. I don't wanna see that. I'm still trying to think of what I can do. Kudos to Harold. Its gotta stop.

...And the 2016 Olympics are a no go in Chicago. I personally didn't think it was a good idea in the first place.

Steal The Show.

The homey Harold Green does a classic "gotcha" YouTube video featuring the track "Steal The Show" from his upcoming album, Dessert Before Dinner. Check the LEEK logo:

Oh, by the way, Chicago's own the ORACLE KiD produced the entire album. Whoever that is...

This video may upstage the first one.
Hilarious!

The Daily Harold.

My man Harold Green of Black Orchard is promoting a new mixtape:

I guess I should probably mention I shot a few of the clips used in this piece including the interview portion, and produced one of the tracks used. Check out Mr. Green's latest mixtape, The Daily Harold (The Sunday Edition).

Eleven Twenty: Part 2

...So like I was saying, last Thursday (November 20th), I checked out my peoples, Black Orchard... but I'm sure I don't need to go through all that again.

Harold (Black Orchard) is a poet, emcee, and an effortless tastemaker.  He recorded a solo album not to long ago entitled Blue Is For Strawberries.  Yours truly produced few tracks on that joint.

Torri (Black Orchard) is an established artist in her own right.  She has an album available on itunes right now entitled Audio Journal.  Yours truly is working with her on her next project.
I never noticed that naked chick on the wall at the Funky Buddha Lounge until looking at these pictures.  Kinda scary looking.
U.G.L.Y. (Black Orchard) is also an amazing poet, emcee, he paints, produces music, and he's a Leon Phelps protege.
No Black Orchard show would be complete without Harold and/or UG being topless.  Happens every time.
Black Orchard is currently being managed by Dave Jeff of PHLI.  If you don't know who Dave Jeff is, get familiar.  He's one of, if not the founding father of Chicago streetwear.  Dave was doing PHLI long before streetwear was called "streetwear" (and Wikipedia is waaaaaaaay off to the point of aggravation, but that's a whole 'nother post).  More on Dave Jeff to come...

Happy Birthday, Ella! That makes 2 of us! ...and that's why November 20th is important.  Now you know.
Mickey Factz (GFC New York) gets busy.

W!LD LEEK for Mickey.

Two Sixths.
Now figure that last one out. Ha!
